Why traditional VCR or DVD and not total digital from a server? First, it can be time consuming to obtain permission to encode and distribute material -- playing a tape in a classroom is well understood and VBrick's approach is no different from playing it locally (except that the VCR may be far away). Second, one-time play of content may not warrant digital storage. Third, it is very easy and well understood how to insert a tape in a VCR -- that the "play" button may be thousands of miles away changes little.
